Football Winter Conditioning - Competition

I'm a true believer that you have to be a competitor in everything, I just think when you can win or lose you work harder. I was wondering what some of you do at your program in the winter to force your athletes to compete.

At Fordham, we break our team up into small groups and have a points system with rewards. We also have a rating system based on test results with categories that the athletes can achieve. This year, I want to make our conditioning drills more competitve, once the… Continue

Sound like you got things on track. We came out slow and lost game 1 on the road by 1. Went for the 2 point conversion to win it and came up short. But we came home last week and beat Sac State by 21, which was huge for us considering they beat Oregon State the weak before. Have another test this week in UTSA and the following week UNLV. So we should know where we really stand at the end of the month. Good luck this week.

Coach,

I volunteered for Coach George back in fall 2004. The weight room and the variety of tools to play with have come a long way. Wanted to introduce myself and keep up the good work and good luck on the remainder of the season.

Coach Perlak,

Just watched the video- looks great, your guys are really working! I'm going to be at your Bryant game on the 4th, if it's possible I was hoping to talk to you after the game. Best of luck this season!

Hi Coach,
Thanks for the congrats, I'm very excited to get started at Springfield. I had a great experience at Holy Cross- learned a ton from Jeremy and Jeff. They are both awesome guys and you can really tell they love what they do. I'm hoping to get involved with them over the coming summer again, I'm from the same town as Jeremy. My father is a football coach at Assumption, so I'm actually hoping to get out there when they play you guys on September 25th. Thanks again for the congrats

Coach,
Thanks for the comment. The room is great to work in now. It has really improved the intensity of the workouts. Peception is reality. The equipment is all the same but the kids think we got all new equipment with the renovation. Anytime you want to come up let me know. You are always welcom.

Talk to you soon.
