www.strengthperformance.com
ATLANTA, GA – SEPTEMBER 2, 2011 - Strength Performance, LLC today announced that Tommy Moffitt, Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Louisiana State University (LSU), has won the 2011 Strength Performance College Coach’s Choice Award.
Coach Moffitt, entering his 12th season with LSU, has long been considered by many to be one of the nation’s top strength and conditioning professionals. With a focus on the development of the football athlete, Tommy has been integral to the success of numerous national championship football programs, including two national championships at LSU, one with the University of Miami and another with the University of Tennessee. When you also consider his previous recognition as both a high school and college strength and conditioning coach of the year and the longevity of his career with LSU, it’s not surprising that his peers have bestowed Coach Moffitt with the 2011 College Coach’s Choice Award.
“We wanted to create an award that enabled strength and conditioning professionals to recognize one of their own for her or his contributions to the strength and conditioning profession,” said Brian Harris, co-founder of Strength Performance, LLC. “By allowing strength coaches to both nominate and ultimately vote for the winner of the College Coach’s Choice Award, I believe we’ve achieved that objective.”
Coach Moffitt was one of 5 finalists for the 2011 award. The top 5 finalists, nominated and voted on by their peers, and listed in no particular order were:
• Tommy Moffitt: Louisiana State University • Donnie Sommer: Texas Christian University • Ike Hammerly: William Penn University • Kaz Kazadi: Baylor University • Andrea Hudy: University of Kansas
“All of the nominees have made a career out of striving for excellence in their profession and working to ensure that student athletes in their programs achieve their highest athletic objectives,” said Brian. “We’re proud to present the College Coach’s Choice Award to Coach Moffitt. He represents all that is good about the strength and conditioning profession. Congratulations to Coach Moffitt and LSU.”

Content produced by this division will be shown live on Strength Performance Network, a social media platform that serves as an online resource for strength and conditioning professionals.
In addition to live events, SPTV will create a digital content library of the fitness-specific events it produces, enabling professionals to access and view events at a time more convenient for them. SPTV’s first live online production took place at this year’s National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) annual conference, July 14-17, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. SPTV streamed live production segments from the conference and supplemented the live shows with content recorded directly from the show floor. This online broadcast brought SPTV’s global audience interviews with strength and conditioning professionals, nutritional information, product demonstrations, and discussions with product and supplement vendors. Recorded segments and content not shown during the live broadcasts will be distributed online via Strength Performance Network this week. “Strength Performance Network utilizes the online medium to enable fitness professionals to network with one another and share best practices,” said Brian Harris, co-founder of Strength Performance, LLC. “SPTV will bring fitness-related events to our members, further enhancing Strength Performance Networks’ content, and enabling members to stay current on the latest trends and events in the marketplace.”
