Can balance really increase a pitchers velocity, and if so how? What is the synergy between balance and power?

I just started reading the article and noticed on the first page the word "weight" is spelled wrong (it says "wait"). I think the same mistake is made twice. It would help to have somebody…Continue

Comment by Larry Warnock. LMT 20 hours ago The reason for so many injuries is obvious...too much training, too little stretching and range of motion..no assessments...athletes don't know their weaknesses and just do all the "grunt" work..squats, cleans, presses....
and trigger points create 80% of all injuries...with teens still growing triggers form..they form in every athlete...and until the triggers are removed, you cannot stretch nor strengthen the muscle appropriately...hence why PT often fails.
I see those pitchers and other players who want to stay healthy and injury-free...do 30 minute trigger point sessions...not one single injury to any of these athletes.
Comment by John Weatherly 21 hours ago I agree it's odd injuries are increasing with all of the supposed knowledge and an organization like the NSCA marketing itself as "the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning." Why with all the knowledge and increased awareness about strength and conditioning would injury rates be increasing? Is it just too many competitions (even with all the restrictions Brian mentioned) and not enough emphasis on conditioning? It would seem people should be more aware of the importance of strength and conditioning than ever. Why would strength and conditioning be short-changed? Is it given a lot of lip service but in actuality is not implemented/respected as it should be?

Comment by John Weatherly on February 29, 2012 at 10:52pm Informative article, as always, by Eric on rhabdo. Just curious what people think about Ryan Braun. According to what I heard, his T:EpiT ratio was 20:1 and normal for a male is around 1:1 or so. It appears he got off on a technicality. It is also disturbing that he questioned the integrity of the testing and the person responsible for handling/storing the sample until it was shipped FedEx.
