I'm currently looking into taking an educational training course in
Intramuscular Manual Therapy (Trigger Point Dry Needling) techniques to improve
my practice and am looking for input.
Do any of you have experience with this technique? Feedback/thoughts on groups
providing the education? How about the effectiveness in treating the type of repetitive
strain type disorders we often see with athletes (medial tibial stress
syndrome, rotator cuff tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, IT Band Syndrome, etc.)?
I realize this is "another tool in the tool box" and not the panacea, but I'm
looking to incorporate the modality to facilitate reduction in pain/movement dysfunction so
that we can move forward more quickly with other appropriate manual
therapy/therapeutic exercises.
Any input would be greatly appreciated - thank you in advance.
Cheers,

Check with you State Education Department to inquire about the legality of a physical therapist administrating and billing for Dry Needling Treatments. There are states that permit this and others that do not. If legally permitted, they may be able to provide you with educational training information as well.
